Frequently asked questions.
Do you take insurance, and what if my plan is out-of-network?
We only accept one insurance, Cigna, and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Our team can guide you through the process so you know what your options are.
What makes Creative Arts Therapy different from traditional talk therapy?
We use art, music, movement, projective techniques or other creative tools to help you explore emotions in many different ways, often making therapy more engaging and expressive in a safe space.
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions typically last between 45 and 60 minutes, depending on the type of therapy and your individual needs.
Is everything I share in therapy confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected, and everything discussed in therapy remains confidential within legal and ethical guidelines.
What happens during my first session?
Your therapist will get to know you, discuss your goals, and explain how therapy works. It’s a chance to ask questions and begin building a comfortable and supportive relationship.
How do you match clients with the right therapist or clinician?
We consider your preferences, needs, and goals to connect you with a therapist whose background and approach are the best fit for you. Our therapists’ schedules can fill quickly and may not always align with your preferred times or specific therapist request. We will do our very best to match you with the clinician who best fits your needs and availability. If your preferred therapist is not immediately available, we will offer the next closest option and notify you as soon as a spot opens.
Who should I contact if I have questions about invoices or administrative matters?
Please reach out to our office manager at info@mcatclinic.com. He’ll be happy to help with billing, invoices, scheduling logistics, and other administrative questions.
